“A new class of biodegradable copolyesters was synthesized by the catalyst-free melt condensation of sorbitol with citric acid, tartaric acid, and sebacic

METHODS: Obstetric patients at less than 28 weeks of gestation were enrolled in a randomized controlled trial from an academic center’s outpatient clinic during two consecutive influenza seasons (2010-2011 and 2011-2012). Potential participants were excluded if they had already received that season’s influenza vaccine. Participants were randomized to receive 12 weekly text messages encouraging general pregnancy health (General) or general pregnancy health plus influenza vaccination (Flu). Study participants completed preintervention

and postintervention surveys about preventive health beliefs. Influenza vaccine receipt was assessed using prenatal record review. The study was powered to detect a 55% increase in the vaccination rate in the intervention group.

RESULTS: Two hundred sixteen women were enrolled, 204 of whom were available for intention-to-treat analysis (n=100 General, n=104 Flu). Participants were primarily African American (66%) with low educational attainment (90% equivalent to or less than high school education) and predominantly with either public or no insurance (88%). After 1 week, there was a significant difference in pain (VAS score 3.7 [+/- 2.1] vs. 2.0 [+/- 1.1], p <= .001), and physical dysfunction (group A, 85.1 [+/- 11.2] vs. group B, 95.7 [+/- 10.1]; p < .001) as well as vitality (group A, 75 [+/- 13.0] vs. group B, 83.7 [+/- 13.4]; p = .03), all in favor of group B, which disappeared after 6 weeks. After 6 weeks, no significant differences in all endpoints were present. CrPrx3 and CrPrx4 are present in single copy number in C roseus. Confocal scanning microscopy and phylogenetic analysis showed that CrPrx3 and CrPrx4 are apoplastic in nature. Phylogenetic analysis revealed that both genes have diverse expression patterns in a variety of plant tissues. Quantitative real-time PCR confirmed their maximum expression in stem tissues followed by flower tissue.
